Wolves Storybook Season Ends in Loss to Guyer

After a district championship and sweeps in two rounds of the playoffs, Plano West lost in a one-game playoff to Denton Guyer in the Regional Quarterfinals.

Wolves Sweep Again for Area Championship

It was another winning week for the Plano West softball team. The Wolves met up with the Arlington Colts in a battle for the Area Championship in a best of three series. The Wolves made sure the third game was never necessary.

Plano West Defeats Prosper in Sweep for Bi-District Championship

Plano West advanced yet another round in the playoffs, capturing the Bi-District Championship in a 2-game sweep of Prosper. The Wolves playoff berth is their first since 2018.

Wolves Defeat Flower Mound in Pitchers' Duel for District Championship

Both Plano West and Flower Mound were strong in the pitcher's circle on Saturday, but Plano West defeated Flower Mound 3-1 to take sole possession of the district championship. Plano West pitchers held Flower Mound to just five hits to win the game.

Plano West Wins Over Hebron in Second Showdown

In their second and final matchup of the district season, Plano West won over Hebron 4-2 at home. The team celebrated their three graduating seniors - Brooke Hilton, who will be playing for Texas A&M Commerce; Madison Strayhorn, who will attend the University of Arkansas; and Adayah Wallace, who will play for the University of Texas.

Combined West Pitchers Shutout East

Plano West defeated Plano East for a second time this season, winning 4-0 on Saturday at Plano East in a combined shutout by pitchers Sophomore Marlee Flanigan and Junior MC Pollacia.

Wolves Grab Lead in Sixth Inning for Victory Over Lewisville

Plano West nabbed the lead late in the game in a 3-1 victory over the Lewisville Fighting Farmers on Thursday night in an away game. The game was a pitcher's duel with West pitchers striking out four and Lewisville pitchers striking out eight.

Wolves Down Plano Wildcats to Take District Lead

Plano West beat Plano Senior for the second time this season in a 6-2 victory. It was another well-rounded effort by the Wolves. The bats were working, the gloves were sure-handed, and the pitching was solid.

Wolves Lose Close One to Hebron

Plano West watched the game slip away with an early run by Hebron and couldn't recover in a 3-1 loss on Saturday. The pitching was strong on both sides. Hebron's pitcher struck out nine and allowed only 3 hits. Junior Carra Cleaves gave up five hits and walked only one in a complete game.

Mehta With 5 RBIs to Seal West Victory Over East

Sophomore Kaaya Mehta wasted no opportunities at the plate on Friday night, driving in five runs on two hits to lead Plano West past Plano East 12-4 in their first head-to-head match up of the season. Mehta drove in runs on a grand slam in the second and a double in the third.

Wolves Stymied by Marcus Maruaders

It was a tough night for Plano West on Friday night in their first loss in district play this season. The Wolves lost in a 12-0 blowout to the Marcus Marauders.

Plano West Grabs Lead in Sixth Inning to Defeat Lewisville Fighting Farmers

The Wolves managed a comeback victory after falling behind early in the game. Lewisville managed one run in each of the first two innings and a third run in the fifth. The Farmers were up 3 to 2 going into the sixth when Plano West turned on their bats in a 2-out rally to take control of the game.

Plano West Grabs Lead in Fifth Inning for Victory Over Plano Wildcats

The Wolves snatched the lead late in the game in a 3-1 victory over the Plano Wildcats on Friday night. The Wildcats jumped ahead in the top of the first with one run on a ground out RBI. A big fifth inning for the Wolves put them on top. Senior Adayah Wallace singled on a 2-2 count to drive home the go-ahead run.

Wolves Blow Out Coppell in District Opener

A 7-run second inning led Plano West to victory in their district opener on Tuesday night. The Wolves put the pressure on from the start, scoring 3 runs in the first and then the additional 7 in the second. Coppell managed 3 runs spread throughout the game, but it was not enough to beat the offense-dominating Wolves.

Wolves Defeat Lubbock Coronado Mustangs

Despite allowing 3 runs in the first inning, Plano West managed to defeat the Coronado Mustangs in their last game of the Turf Wars Tournament.

Wolves Win in Walk-Off Against Eaton

Plano West won in an exciting matchup against the Eaton Eagles. Eaton jumped out early, scoring 2 runs in the first and 5 in the second. The Wolves answered with 3 of their own in the second.

Plano West won 8 to 4 in a rematch against Allen on Friday. The Wolves jumped to a quick start in the first inning, scoring 2 runs. But Allen battled back, scoring 2 of their own. The teams battled it out until Plano West pulled away for good in the third inning.

Plano West Falls Short to Ridge Point Panthers

The Wolves' bats were strong against the Ridge Point Panthers on Friday, but it wasn't enough as Plano West fell 13 to 6. Plano West struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Ridge Point, giving up 13 runs.

Late Score Costs Plano West Against Lovejoy

Plano West stayed in it until the end, but the Lovejoy Leopards pulled away late in an 8-5 victory on Friday. The game was tied at 4 with Lovejoy batting in the top of the fourth; the Leopards scored 2 runs that inning and Plano West never recovered.

Four RBI Day for Abby Jennings Spells Out Victory for Wolves

Freshman Abby Jennings was an RBI machine on Thursday, driving in four on two hits to lead Plano West past the Denison Yellow Jackets 11-2 on Thursday. Jennings drove in runs on a home run in the first and a sac fly in the fourth. Senior Brooke Hilton had a long ball of her own in the second inning.

Plano West Grabs Lead in Sixth Inning to Defeat Brock

The Wolves took a late lead to defeat the Brock Eagles 10-5 on Saturday in their last game of the Wurst Comal ISD Tournament. The game was tied at five going into the sixth inning when freshman Izzy Dunn singled on a 1-2 count to score the go-ahead run. Dunn had previously knotted the game up at five in the top of the fifth when she tripled, driving in two runs.

Plano West Holds Off Akins for the Win

Plano West got out to a six-run lead in the fourth inning and held on to win 8-6 as the Akin Eagles fought back in a failed comeback on two errors to score four runs in the fourth inning.

Dripping Springs Runs Away with Early Lead to Victory

Plano West watched their second tournament game of the day slip away early and couldn't recover in a 9-2 loss to the Dripping Springs Tigers. The Wolves struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing the Tigers, giving up nine runs with four errors.

Plano West Stays Scrappy in Loss to New Braunfels

Plano West's effort to come back from down five runs in the third inning came up just short as they fell 5-4 to New Braunfels in their first tournament game on Friday.

Plano West Defeats Smithson Valley 4-1

In their second game of the Wurst Tournament, Plano West took home a 4-1 victory over Smithson Valley High School. Junior M.C. Pollacia earned the win for the Wolves. The hurler allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out four.

Wolves Fall to Allen Eagles in Wurst Tourney Opener

After a tight start, Plano West fell in their first game in the Wurst Comal County Tournament to the Allen Eagles. Tied at 1-1 after the first inning, the Eagles pulled away for good with three runs in the third. An error by West scored two of those runs.

Cuellar's Walk-Off Gives Plano West the Victory Over McKinney

In their season opener, Plano West took the game in dramatic fashion with an 8-7 walk-off victory over the McKinney Lions. The Wolves were down 7-6 in the bottom of the seventh inning when freshman Abby Cuellar singled on an 0-1 count, scoring two runs to win the game.
