Plano West Grabs Lead in Sixth Inning to Defeat Brock

The Wolves took a late lead to defeat the Brock Eagles 10-5 on Saturday in their last game of the Wurst Comal ISD Tournament. The game was tied at five going into the sixth inning when freshman Izzy Dunn singled on a 1-2 count to score the go-ahead run. Dunn had previously knotted the game up at five in the top of the fifth when she tripled, driving in two runs.

 

Junior Carra Cleaves got the win in the circle for Plano West. The ace surrendered one run on four hits over four innings, striking out one and walking one. Sophomore Marlee Flanigan started in the circle for the Wolves.

 

Plano West racked up 12 hits in the win. Seniors Brooke Hilton and Adayah Wallace, sophomores Dunn and Elyse Mikes, and freshman Abby Cueller each managed multiple hits at the plate. Wallace led the team with three hits in three at bats.

 

The Wolves are 4 and 3 headed into their next tournament.
