Plano West Holds Off Akins for the Win

Plano West got out to a six-run lead in the fourth inning and held on to win 8-6 as the Akin Eagles fought back in a failed comeback on two errors to score four runs in the fourth inning. Junior Carra Cleaves was credited with the win for the game, pitching two and two-thirds innings of the four-inning game, striking out five and walking one. Junior M.C. Pollacia started in the circle for the Wolves.

The Wolves collected a total of 13 hits for the game, including an over the fence bomb by senior Brooke Hilton in the first inning. Hilton and senior Adayah Wallace, Pollacia, and freshman Abby Jennings each managed two hits to lead the Wolves in offense. Jennings also led the Wolves on the base paths with two stolen bases.
