The Wolves ran off with the lead late in the game in a 5-3 victory over Birdville in the Wolves' first game of the Turf Wars tournament on Thursday.

Plano West got things moving in the first inning when a sacrifice bunt by Sophomore Izzy Dunn scored one run for the Wolves. The game was tied at two with Plano West batting in the bottom of the fifth when Sophomore Elyse Mikes singled on the first pitch of her at bat, driving in 3 runs.

Junior Carra Cleaves was on the rubber for Plano West. The fireballer allowed 3 runs over 7 innings, striking out 4. Cleaves, Mikes, Senior Adayah Wallace, Sophomores Marlee Flanigan, Kaaya Mehta, and Ally Martin, and Freshman Abby Cuellar all contributed to the offense with one hit each.

The Wolves were once again flawless in the field with no errors. Cuellar had none chances in the field, the most on the team.
