After losing to Marcus earlier in the season, the Wolves came ready to show the Marauders who was in charge.

Marcus took a quick lead in the first, scoring 2 runs on an error, a sac fly, and some effective short game. But Plano West tied it up in the bottom of the second with a line drive double to center field by Sophomore Kaaya Mehta.

The Wolves took the lead for good in the fourth inning. Sophomore Izzy Dunn doubled on the first pitch of her at bat, driving in two runs of her own. Then Senior Brooke Hilton followed with a single to push Dunn across the plate.

Junior Carra Cleaves started in the circle and got the win for the Wolves. Cleaves pitched four and a third innings, allowing four hits and striking out two. Sophomore Marlee Flanigan entered in the fifth in relief.

The game ended in dramatic fashion. In the top of the seventh, Marcus loaded up the bases with the go-ahead run at the plate. Sophomore Elyse Mikes made a spectacular catch at the wall to save the game. Two runs scored on the sacrifice, but the Wolves managed a final out to end the game, winning 7 to 6.

Plano West managed six hits at the plate. Dunn led the offense going 2 for 4. Other hits came from Hilton, Mikes, Mehta, and Freshman Abby Cuellar.

With the win over Marcus, Plano West earned a play off spot. Their next game is away at Plano East on Friday night.
