Wolves Stymied by Marcus Maruaders

It was a tough night for Plano West on Friday night in their first loss in district play this season. The Wolves lost in a 12-0 blowout to the Marcus Marauders.

It was a tight game for the first three innings with neither team crossing the plate. In the first inning, the Wolves loaded up the bases with no outs, but couldn't push anyone across. They had another opportunity again in the second with runners in scoring position, but the Marcus defense managed to hold off the Wolves.

It was the bottom of the fourth inning when the first runs scored. After a series of blooper hits and a couple of errors by the Wolves defense, the Marauders managed to score seven, and the Wolves never recovered.

Juniors Carra Cleaves and MC Pollacia combined efforts to pitch for the Wolves but Cleaves took the loss in the circle. Senior Brooke Hilton managed the only hit of the game for Plano West. It was an uncharacteristically quiet night at the plate for the Wolves. They are 3 and 1 in district play and are currently sitting alone in second place behind Flower Mound. Plano West will be back at it again next Wednesday against Plano East.
