Lake Creek Lions Captures Lead Early to Defeat Plano West

Plano West watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 13-0 loss to Lake Creek on Saturday. The Wolves struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Lake Creek. In addition to Lake Creek's strong offense, the Wolves committed 4 errors.

Ranked as the number one high school softball team in the country, the Lions were strong both at the plate and in the field.

Junior Carra Cleaves started the game in the circle for the Wolves and took the loss after pitching 2 innings. Sophomore Marlee Flanigan threw two innings in relief.

Bright spots for the Wolves came with a single by Senior Brooke Hilton in the fourth inning and a double by Freshman Abby Cuellar in the fifth. Those were the only two hits by Plano West in the game.
