Cuellar's Walk-Off Gives Plano West the Victory Over McKinney

In their season opener, Plano West took the game in dramatic fashion with an 8-7 walk-off victory over the McKinney Lions. The Wolves were down 7-6 in the bottom of the seventh inning when freshman Abby Cuellar singled on an 0-1 count, scoring two runs to win the game.

The Lions put up runs in the first, third, and seventh innings. From behind, the Wolves put up four of their own runs in the sixth inning. The big bats in the inning were led by a single from freshman Abby Chunn, a sac fly by sophomore Elyse Mikes, and a double by Cuellar.

Junior M.C. Pollacia was credited with the victory from the circle for the Wolves. She allowed two hits in four innings, striking out one and walking one.

Plano West racked up ten hits in the game. The freshmen Abbys - Cuellar, Abby Jennings, and Chunn - had two hits each to lead the team in offense for the night.
