Plano West Wins Over Hebron in Second Showdown

In their second and final matchup of the district season, Plano West won over Hebron 4-2 at home. The team celebrated their three graduating seniors - Brooke Hilton, who will be playing for Texas A&M Commerce; Madison Strayhorn, who will attend the University of Arkansas; and Adayah Wallace, who will play for the University of Texas.
Hebron got a quick run on the board in the first, but it wasn't enough to overcome Plano West's 2-run offense in the fourth and another 2-run inning in the fifth. Plano West pulled away for good in the fourth on a sac fly by Senior Brooke Hilton, driving in Senior Adayah Wallace, and a double by Freshman Abby Jennings that drove in Sophomore Izzy Dunn. In the fifth inning, the top of the lineup struck again. Wallace powered a triple to the wall that drove in Freshman Abby Cuellar and Dunn grounded to the pitcher to score Wallace again.
Junior Carra Cleaves earned the win in the circle for the Wolves. She surrendered one run on six hits over four innings, walking none. Junior MC Pollacia came in strong from the bullpen for the save, throwing three innings, allowing one run on one hit.
The Wolves win gives them at least a 2-way share of the district title with Flower Mound. The number one and two teams meet up at Flower Mound on Saturday for a final district showdown.
