Plano West Defeats Smithson Valley 4-1

In their second game of the Wurst Tournament, Plano West took home a 4-1 victory over Smithson Valley High School. Junior M.C. Pollacia earned the win for the Wolves. The hurler allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out four. Junior Carra Cleaves started the game in the circle for West. In her one inning, she gave up one hit and no runs, and struck out one.

The losing pitcher for Smithson Valley surrendered four runs on six hits over six innings. She walked none and struck out eleven - surprising given the outcome of the game.

But the Wolves pulled off the win against a tough team. A series of hits put West ahead for the win. One hit each came from senior Adayah Wallace, juniors Cleaves and Pollacia, and sophomores Kaaya Mehta and Elyse Mikes.
