Plano West had everything working on Tuesday night, winning big over district leader Flower Mound 9-2. The Wolves started work early at the plate with Junior Carra Cleaves driving in the first run of the game with an RBI single. Freshman Abby Cuellar doubled and Senior Adayah Wallace bunt singled, each driving in runs to cap off the inning.

The Wolves had another big inning at the plate in the third. Hits by Freshman Abby Jennings, Sophomore Elyse Mikes and a couple of fielder's choices and hard hit balls into play by Cleaves, Sophomore Kaaya Mehta, and Cuellar produced another 4 runs. Plano West pushed across two more runs in the sixth generated by a double from Mehta, a single by Cuellar, and a loud sacrifice fly by Sophomore Ally Martin.

Plano West was strong on defense too. Sophomore Marlee Flanigan started in the circle. Her first two innings were strong with Flower Mound unable to generate any offense. But in the third, the Jaguars managed to get two runs across the plate. Cleaves entered the game and pitched four and a third scoreless innings, walking only one.

The win by Plano West moves them to a solo second place spot in district. Their next game is Friday against Coppell.
