Plano West Varsity Wolves Fall To Prosper On Walk-Off

Plano West Varsity Wolves fell to Prosper 6-5 on Thursday on the final play of the game. Prosper were down 5-4 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Layla Pourciau singled, scoring two runs.
Isabella Dunn collected three hits in four at bats in the loss. Dunn hit a solo home run to center field in the first inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the sixth inning.
Plano West Varsity Wolves got on the board in the top of the first inning after Dunn homered to center field, and Beetle Nell singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
Prosper captured the lead, 6-5, in the bottom of the seventh when Addi Gurley was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Pourciau singled, scoring two runs.
Peyton Moya earned the win for Prosper. The reliever surrendered four hits and two runs (zero earned) over three innings, striking out six and walking none. Marlee Flanigan took the loss for Plano West Varsity Wolves. The starter went six and two-thirds innings, giving up six runs (five earned) on 11 hits, striking out six and walking three. Sam Riley started in the circle for Prosper. The pitcher surrendered six hits and three runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out two and walking three.
Plano West Varsity Wolves collected 10 hits in the game. Nell, Dunn, and Abby Jennings each drove in one run for Plano West Varsity Wolves. Andrea Carrillo collected two hits for Plano West Varsity Wolves in four at bats.
Prosper accumulated 11 hits in the game. Pourciau, the number eight hitter for Prosper, led the way with three runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-3 on the day. T Spain went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Prosper in hits. Prosper turned one double play in the game.
