Plano West Varsity Wolves Defeats Prosper Varsity Eagles On Back Of Clutch Display From Brooke Reasoner

Brooke Reasoner drove in four runs on one hit to lead Plano West Varsity Wolves past Prosper Varsity Eagles 13-2 on Thursday. In the fifth inning, Reasoner homered to center field, scoring three runs.

 

A double by Reese Bruno put Prosper Varsity Eagles on the board in the bottom of the first.

 

Plano West Varsity Wolves flipped the game on its head in the top of the fourth, scoring six runs on five hits to take the lead, 6-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Beetle Nell that drove in two.

 

Five more Plano West Varsity Wolves runs crossed the plate in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 11-1. Kendall Prowell doubled, scoring one run, Abby Cuellar singled, scoring one run, and Reasoner homered to center field, scoring three runs.

 

Prowell earned the win for Plano West Varsity Wolves. The starter allowed six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking three. Bella Acuff took the loss for Prosper Varsity Eagles. The hurler went two-thirds of an inning, allowing five runs on five hits, striking out none and walking one. Peyton Moya led things off in the circle for Prosper Varsity Eagles. The pitcher gave up four hits and one run over three innings, striking out six and walking two.

 

Plano West Varsity Wolves piled up 18 hits in the game. Abby Jennings went 5-for-5 at the plate to lead Plano West Varsity Wolves in hits. Prowell, Whitney Flanigan, Cuellar, and Lola Brown each collected multiple hits for Plano West Varsity Wolves. Amber Carrillo paced Plano West Varsity Wolves with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying six walks for the game.

 

Moya and Bella Lopez were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Prosper Varsity Eagles while hitting back-to-back. Ava Van Volkenburgh and Bruno each drove in one run for Prosper Varsity Eagles. Prosper Varsity Eagles turned one double play in the game.
