Plano West Varsity Wolves Surge Past McKinney Boyd Varsity Broncos Thanks To Big Fourth Inning

 

Plano West Varsity Wolves defeated McKinney Boyd Varsity Broncos 10-0 on Tuesday thanks in part to seven runs in the fourth inning.  Beetle Nell doubled, scoring one run, Whitney Flanigan doubled, scoring one run, Lola Brown singled, scoring one run, Amber Carrillo singled, scoring one run, Abby Cuellar doubled, scoring one run, and Kendall Prowell doubled, scoring two runs.

 

Three more Plano West Varsity Wolves runs crossed the plate in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 10-0. Brooke  Reasoner hit a solo home run to center field, Carrillo drew a walk, scoring one run, and Zoe Spicer drew a walk, scoring one run.

 

Prowell earned the win for Plano West Varsity Wolves. The starter allowed seven hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out one and walking none. Zoie Beard took the loss for McKinney Boyd Varsity Broncos. The right-handed pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, surrendering seven runs on seven hits, striking out one and walking two.

 

Plano West Varsity Wolves collected 10 hits in the game. Nell, Prowell, and Flanigan each collected two hits for Plano West Varsity Wolves. Prowell and Carrillo each drove in two runs for Plano West Varsity Wolves.

 

Josie Knight went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead McKinney Boyd Varsity Broncos in hits. McKinney Boyd Varsity Broncos turned one double play in the game.

 

Plano West Varsity Wolves will travel to Horn for their next game on Thursday.
