Plano West Varsity Wolves Storm Back To Defeat McKinney

 

Plano West Varsity Wolves trailed by as many as four, but came back to best McKinney on Friday, 14-4.

 

McKinney got on the board in the top of the first inning after James tripled to center field, Frazen singled down the right field line, Beam singled to center field, and V Molina grounded into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run.

 

Plano West Varsity Wolves flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring six runs on two hits to take the lead, 7-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Isabella Dunn that drove in one.

 

Plano West Varsity Wolves scored six runs on four hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Marlee Flanigan drew a walk, scoring one run, Andrea Carrillo drew a walk, scoring one run, Beetle Nell singled, scoring two runs, and Amber Carrillo doubled, scoring two runs.

 

Flanigan earned the win for Plano West Varsity Wolves. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and four runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out none and walking one. Oles took the loss for McKinney. The hurler went four and one-third innings, allowing 12 runs (nine earned) on six hits, striking out two and walking eight.

 

Nell led Plano West Varsity Wolves with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The first baseman went 2-for-3 on the day. Nell and Dunn each collected two hits for Plano West Varsity Wolves. Plano West Varsity Wolves had a strong eye at the plate, tallying 10 walks for the game. Brooke  Reasoner, Flanigan, and Carrillo led the team with two bases on balls each.

 

Frazen, Beam, Molina, and James each drove in one run for McKinney. Beirnes went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead McKinney in hits. McKinney turned one double play in the game.
