Brooke Reasoner’s Big Day Propels Plano West Varsity Wolves Past Allen

 

Brooke  Reasoner drove in four runs on three hits to lead Plano West Varsity Wolves past Allen 12-9 on Tuesday. Reasoner hit a home run to center field in the fourth scoring two, doubled in the third scoring one, and singled in the sixth scoring one.

 

Bats blistered as Plano West Varsity Wolves collected 15 hits and Allen tallied 12 in the high-scoring game.

 

Allen opened the scoring in the first after Wright hit a solo home run to left field.

 

Plano West Varsity Wolves flipped the game on its head in the top of the third, scoring six runs on six hits to take the lead, 6-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Kaaya Mehta that drove in two.

 

Three more Plano West Varsity Wolves runs crossed the plate in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 9-2. Abby Jennings doubled, scoring one run, and Reasoner homered to center field, scoring two runs.

 

Marlee Flanigan earned the win for Plano West Varsity Wolves. The pitcher surrendered 12 hits and nine runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking two. Wright took the loss for Allen. The starter went seven innings, surrendering 12 runs (six earned) on 15 hits, striking out three and walking one.

 

Plano West Varsity Wolves amassed 15 hits in the game. Amber Carrillo, Reasoner, and Jennings each collected three hits for Plano West Varsity Wolves. Abby Cuellar collected two hits for Plano West Varsity Wolves in five at bats. Plano West Varsity Wolves were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Reasoner made the most plays with nine.

 

Allen tallied 12 hits in the game. Wright provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Allen with four runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 3-for-4 on the day. King and Wright each collected three hits for Allen. Fincanon, Kostas, and Rebecca Liu each collected multiple hits for Allen. King stole two bases.

 

Plano West Varsity Wolves play at home on Friday against Princeton in their next game.
