Plano West Varsity Wolves Surge Past Princeton Varsity Lady Panthers Thanks To Big Third Inning

Plano West Varsity Wolves scored 12 runs in the third inning, which helped them defeat Princeton Varsity Lady Panthers 17-2 on Friday.  Abby Cuellar drew a walk, scoring one run, Abby Jennings was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Brooke  Reasoner drew a walk, scoring one run, Beetle Nell drew a walk, scoring one run, Lola Brown singled, scoring one run, Whitney Flanigan drew a walk, scoring one run, Amber Carrillo singled, scoring two runs, Kendall Prowell singled, scoring one run, Cuellar drew a walk, scoring one run, and Jennings doubled, scoring two runs.

 

Plano West Varsity Wolves were the first to get on the board in the first when Reasoner homered to left field, scoring two runs.

 

A single by Cuellar, and a ground out by Nell helped Plano West Varsity Wolves extend their early lead in the second.

 

Prowell earned the win for Plano West Varsity Wolves. The starter allowed five hits and two runs over three innings, striking out five and walking one. Paityn Athey started in the circle for Princeton Varsity Lady Panthers. The pitcher gave up four hits and eight runs over two and one-third innings, striking out none and walking seven.

 

Prowell and Jennings each collected two hits for Plano West Varsity Wolves. Cuellar went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with four runs batted in. Zoe Spicer led Plano West Varsity Wolves with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 13 walks for the game. Plano West Varsity Wolves were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Reasoner had the most chances in the field with seven.

 

Hailey Highbarger, Kinlee Ratliff, Dahlia Gutierrez, Fernanda Rodriguez-Fierro, and Zoie Rainey each collected one hit for Princeton Varsity Lady Panthers. Highbarger and Rainey each drove in one run for Princeton Varsity Lady Panthers.

 

Plano West Varsity Wolves will travel to Prosper Varsity Eagles for their next game on Thursday.
