Plano West Varsity Wolves Secure Win Against Plano East Varsity Panthers

Plano West Varsity Wolves were victorious against Plano East Varsity Panthers 4-2 on Tuesday.

 

Plano East Varsity Panthers got on the board in the top of the first inning after La’Courtnia Butler walked, and Jayla Taggart grounded out, each scoring one run.

 

Brooke Reasoner doubled to right field, which helped Plano West Varsity Wolves tie the game at two in the bottom of the first.

 

Plano West Varsity Wolves took the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Beetle Nell singled down the right field line, and Whitney Flanigan flew out, each scoring one run.

 

Kendall Prowell earned the win for Plano West Varsity Wolves. The pitcher surrendered zero hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out six and walking three. Savannah Leonard took the loss for Plano East Varsity Panthers. The right-handed pitcher went six innings, giving up four runs on seven hits, striking out two and walking three. Emma Kesler opened the game for Plano West Varsity Wolves. The hurler gave up one hit and two runs over two innings, striking out one and walking four.

 

Reasoner provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Plano West Varsity Wolves with two runs batted in. The catcher went 2-for-2 on the day. Reasoner and Abby Cuellar each collected two hits for Plano West Varsity Wolves.

 

Taggart led Plano East Varsity Panthers with one run batted in.  Avery Hopper led Plano East Varsity Panthers with one hit in three at bats. Plano East Varsity Panthers had a strong eye at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. Kayleigh Miller and Butler led the team with two bases on balls each. Plano East Varsity Panthers turned one double play in the game. Plano East Varsity Panthers were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Butler made the most plays with seven.
