Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves Defeats Princeton On Back Of Clutch Display From Ava Fuquay

 

Ava Fuquay drove in four runs on two hits to lead Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves past Princeton 9-4 on Friday. Fuquay singled in the first inning, scoring two runs, and singled in the third inning, scoring two.

 

Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Sadie Kilmer hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Fuquay singled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.

 

Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves added one run in the second. Aubrie Bowden singled down the right field line following a 6-pitch at-bat, making the score 5-0.

 

A walk by Kilmer, a single by Fuquay, and a single by Emma Kesler helped Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves extend their early lead in the third.

 

Fuquay earned the win for Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves. The righty gave up two hits and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out five and walking none. #15 took the loss for Princeton. The hurler went two and one-third innings, giving up nine runs (eight earned) on six hits, striking out none and walking eight. Kayla Johnson appeared in relief for Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves.

 

Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves had patience at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Matilda Lilja and Aderes Villela led the team with two bases on balls each. Bowden and Villela each stole multiple bases for Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves. Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves stole six bases in the game.

 

#15, #11, #12, and #7 each collected one hit for Princeton. #15 and #7 each drove in one run for Princeton. Princeton turned one double play in the game.
