Plano West JV Battles Through Four Games at Plano Senior Tournament

Plano West Junior Varsity competed in a four-game slate last weekend at the Plano Senior High Tournament, showing resilience, growth, and grit across two days of play.

Game 1: Forney 6, Plano West 1

The Wolves opened tournament play against Forney, falling 6–1 despite a steady defensive effort. Forney capitalized early with a three-run second inning and added two more runs in the third to extend its lead.

Ava Fuquay started in the circle, working two and one-third innings and striking out one. Plano West played clean defense without committing an error, with Layney Conner recording four defensive plays. Fuquay also led the Wolves at the plate, going 1-for-1.

Game 2: Flower Mound 11, Plano West 0

In their second game Thursday, Plano West faced a strong Flower Mound squad. Flower Mound jumped ahead early and used timely hitting and aggressive baserunning to secure the win.

Sydney Turano started in the circle, and Layney Conner collected the Wolves’ lone hit of the game. Despite the outcome, Plano West continued to compete and gain valuable experience against a deep lineup.

Game 3: Plano West 12, Sachse 7

The Wolves bounced back Friday with an impressive offensive performance against Sachse.

Brynley Reeves led the charge, driving in four runs on two hits, including a key two-RBI single during a five-run second inning that shifted momentum in Plano West’s favor. The Wolves erased an early deficit and exploded for five more runs in the third to pull away.

Turano struck out six in three innings of work, and Fuquay added a scoreless relief inning with three strikeouts. Reeves, Ashley Tolly, and Fuquay each recorded two hits, while the team showed patience at the plate with 10 walks and five stolen bases.

Game 4: Plano West 5, Wylie East 4 (Walk-Off)

Plano West closed the tournament in dramatic fashion with a walk-off 5–4 victory over Wylie East.

After trailing 4–1, the Wolves rallied in the bottom of the third. Fuquay drove in two runs with a single, Reeves doubled home another, and Kayla Johnson delivered the game-winning triple to seal the comeback.

Fuquay also led offensively, going 2-for-2 with three RBIs, and threw a complete three innings in the circle, striking out five. The Wolves applied pressure on the bases with five stolen bases, including multiple steals from Layney Conner and Zoe Spicer.
