Strong Hitting Not Enough As Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves Falls To Prosper

Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves fell 7-4 to Prosper on Friday despite out-hitting them eight to five. Chloe Chidziva and Kate Hatfield each collected two hits for Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves.

 

Prosper jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after #2 doubled, scoring one run, Charlotte Wainwright grounded out, scoring one run, and Delaney Moody singled, scoring two runs.

 

Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves tied the game in the bottom of the third thanks to a single by Layney Conner, a single by Chidziva, and a fly out by Sadie Kilmer.

 

In the top of the fourth, Prosper broke up the tie when #2 doubled, scoring one run. Then a triple by Alex Jones followed to extend the lead to 7-4.

 

Ava Fuquay started in the circle for Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves. The righty surrendered five hits and seven runs over three and one-third innings, striking out two and walking seven. Jones stepped in the circle first for Prosper. The hurler allowed eight hits and four runs over three innings, striking out three and walking three.

 

Chidziva drove the middle of the lineup, leading Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves with two runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-2 on the day. Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves stole five bases in the game. Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Ivana Farias made the most plays with three.

 

Jones, Moody, and #2 each drove in two runs for Prosper. #2 went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Prosper in hits. Prosper had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Peyton Smuda and #22 led the team with two free passes each. Prosper were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. #22 had the most chances in the field with three.
