Plano West Varsity Wolves Compete in Five-Game Slate at Comal ISD Tournament to Open the 2026 Season!

  

Plano West Varsity Wolves opened the 2026 season with five games at the Comal ISD Tournament, finishing the weekend 2–3 against strong competition.

 

 

Game 1: Plano West Wolves Defeat Bridge City Cardinals 8–5

 

 

Kendall Prowell collected three hits in three at bats to help lead Plano West past Bridge City Cardinals 8–5 on Thursday. Prowell doubled in the first inning and singled in both the second and fifth innings.

 

Plano West tallied 14 hits in the game. Prowell and Abby Cuellar each collected three hits, while Brooke Reasoner drove in two runs. Beetle Nell added two hits in two at bats.

 

Prowell earned the win in the circle, allowing five hits and five runs (four earned) over three and two-thirds innings while striking out three. Emma Kesler collected the save.

 

 

Game 2: Plano West Wolves Fall 4–3 to Canyon Despite 10 Hits

 

 

Even though Plano West collected 10 hits to Canyon’s six, they fell 4–3 on Thursday, leaving 10 runners on base. 

 

Prowell, Cuellar, and Lola Brown each collected two hits. Brown doubled to left field in the second inning to help tie the game early. Reasoner, Cuellar, and Brown each drove in one run.

 

 

Game 3: Bowie Uses Big Second Inning to Defeat Plano West 13–0

 

 

Bowie scored seven runs in the second inning and went on to defeat Plano West 13–0 on Friday.

 

Abby Jennings led Plano West with one hit in one at bat.

 

 

Game 4: Plano West Defeats Seguin 12–3 Behind Strong Offensive Performance

 

 

Abby Jennings drove in five runs on three hits to lead Plano West past Seguin 12–3 on Friday. Jennings homered in the first inning and added two RBI singles.

 

Plano West collected 17 hits in the game. Jennings and Abby Cuellar each had three hits, while Beetle Nell, Kendall Prowell, Brooke Reasoner, and Matilda Lilja recorded multiple hits.

 

Prowell earned the win, allowing three runs (one earned) over five innings.

 

 

Game 5: East Central Defeats Plano West 8–2

 

 

Plano West fell 8–2 to East Central on Saturday.

 

Brooke Reasoner and Beetle Nell each drove in one run. Plano West showed discipline at the plate, drawing five walks, and did not commit an error defensively.

 

 

Tournament Notes

 

 

Plano West recorded 43 total hits across five games during the tournament. The Wolves secured wins over Bridge City and Seguin. The final scheduled game of tournament play on Saturday was canceled due to rain. Plano West will continue its season playing McKinney Boyd on Tuesday.
