Allen Varsity Softball Tournament Five Game Recap
 
Plano West Varsity Softball traveled to Allen last weekend for a five-game tournament that tested the Wolves in every phase of the game. Across three days, the team displayed offensive firepower, defensive discipline, and resilience in tight contests.
 
Below is a complete recap of the weekend.
 
 
Game 1: Plano West 12, Horn 5
 
The Wolves opened tournament play with a strong offensive performance, collecting 13 hits in a 12–5 victory over Horn.
 
Abby Cuellar led the way with three hits at the plate and earned the win in the circle, pitching six innings while allowing five runs on 10 hits. Kendall Prowell drove in three runs, and Brooke Reasoner and Lola Brown each added multiple hits.
 
Plano West set the tone early in the first inning with production from Abby Jennings and Whitney Flanigan, then broke the game open with a five-run third inning. Defensively, the Wolves were sharp, turning a double play and committing no errors.
 
 
Game 2: Plano West 10, Birdville 9
 
In one of the most competitive games of the weekend, Plano West built an early eight-run lead and held on for a 10–9 win over Birdville.
 
Amber Carrillo homered and drove in three runs, while Brooke Reasoner added a two-run home run. Emma Kesler earned the win in the circle, and Kendall Prowell recorded the save.
 
Birdville mounted a late rally, but Plano West responded with timely hitting and key defensive execution, including another double play to limit damage.
 
 
Game 3: Marcus 10, Plano West 9
 
Friday’s matchup with Marcus ended in a walk-off loss despite another strong offensive showing from the Wolves.
 
Plano West collected 11 hits, including home runs from Abby Jennings and Whitney Flanigan. Jennings drove in three runs, and Abby Cuellar finished with three hits.
 
The Wolves carried a late lead before Marcus capitalized in the final inning to secure the 10–9 win.
 
 
Game 4: Plano West 12, Midlothian Heritage 6
 
Plano West responded with a decisive 12–6 victory over Midlothian Heritage.
 
Abby Jennings powered the offense with two home runs and four RBIs. Lola Brown delivered a three-run double, and Amber Carrillo added a solo home run in the seventh inning.
 
The Wolves totaled 14 hits and played error-free defense. Abby Cuellar pitched a complete game to earn the win, allowing six runs over seven innings.
 
 
Game 5: Reedy 10, Plano West 8
 
In the tournament finale, the Wolves showed resilience after falling behind 6–0 in the first inning.
 
Beetle Nell homered and drove in four runs to spark the comeback effort. Plano West scored six runs in the fourth inning to take an 8–6 lead, highlighted by a two-run double from Brooke Reasoner.
 
Reedy regained the lead in the fifth inning, and although Plano West continued to compete, the comeback fell just short. The Wolves turned two double plays and had multiple players record multi-hit performances.
