Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves Dominate Tournament in Wylie, TX with Two Victories

The Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves had a strong showing in Wylie, TX, securing two decisive victories over Wylie JV and Rockwall Junior Varsity Yellowjackets on Saturday.
Game 1: Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves Overpower Wylie JV, 12-5
Plano West wasted no time in taking control after Wylie JV jumped ahead in the first inning with three runs. However, the Wolves responded with a five-run rally in the bottom half, fueled by a two-run double from Matilda Lilja.
The Wolves continued their offensive onslaught in the second inning, adding five more runs on four hits, including doubles from Aderes Villela, Lola Brown, and Kayla Johnson. Lilja and Ava Fuquay also contributed RBIs in the inning.
Plano West tacked on two more runs in the third inning with an RBI single from Sadie Kilmer and a fielder’s choice by Aubrie Bowden.
Emma Kesler earned the win, allowing three hits and three runs over two innings while striking out three. Johnson came in for relief, helping close out the game.
Lilja led the offense with three RBIs, while Ashley Tolly had a perfect 2-for-2 day at the plate. The Wolves displayed patience, drawing six walks, and aggression on the basepaths with five stolen bases.
Game 2: Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves Take Down Rockwall JV Yellowjackets, 9-5
Plano West followed up their dominant win with another strong performance against Rockwall JV. The Yellowjackets struck first, scoring a run in the opening frame after an error, but the Wolves quickly responded. A single from Brown gave Plano West a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first.
A huge second inning saw the Wolves explode for five more runs. Kilmer delivered a clutch two-run double, Brown added a two-run single, and Villela worked a bases-loaded walk to bring in another run.
Fuquay earned the win, pitching four innings while allowing five runs (two earned) on six hits, striking out three. Kesler came in to close out the game, throwing a scoreless final inning with one strikeout.
Brown led the offense again, going 2-for-2 with three RBIs. Bowden, Brown, and Kilmer each collected two hits, while Tolly and the rest of the lineup worked six walks.
Rockwall’s Avery Buskirk led their team with two RBIs, while Brianna Buskirk went 3-for-3, and Olivia Lewis added two hits and two stolen bases.
With these two victories, Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves look to carry their momentum into their next game at home against McKinney Boyd on Saturday.
