Rock Hill Squeaks By Plano West Varsity Wolves In Pitchers Duel

Both teams were strong in the circle on Tuesday, but Rock Hill was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-1 victory over Plano West Varsity Wolves. Marlee Flanigan started the game for Plano West Varsity Wolves and recorded 18 outs.
 
Rock Hill were the first to get on the board in the second when #4 grounded out, scoring one run.
 
Abby Cuellar doubled to center field, which helped Plano West Varsity Wolves tie the game at one in the top of the third.
 
In the bottom of the fifth, Rock Hill broke up the tie when Madelyn Kerrigan singled, scoring one run. Then a single by Gabrielle Luna followed to extend the lead to 3-1.
 
Madilynn Grossman earned the win for Rock Hill. The starter gave up three hits and one run over seven innings, striking out two and walking one. Flanigan took the loss for Plano West Varsity Wolves. The pitcher went six innings, giving up three runs on eight hits, striking out one and walking one.
 
Cuellar went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Kendall Prowell, Brooke  Reasoner, and Cuellar each collected one hit for Plano West Varsity Wolves. Plano West Varsity Wolves were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Beetle Nell had the most chances in the field with 10.
 
Grossman and Kerrigan were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Rock Hill while hitting back-to-back. Luna, Kerrigan, and #4 each drove in one run for Rock Hill.
 
Plano West Varsity Wolves will travel to Rockwall for their next game on Friday.
