Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves Defeats McKinney Boyd 13 to 2

Aubrie Bowden drove in four runs on three hits to lead Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves to a 13-2 victory over McKinney Boyd in their season opener on Tuesday, February 11. Bowden singled in the third scoring two, singled in the second scoring one, and singled in the fourth scoring one.

 

Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves got on the board in the top of the first inning after Aderes Villela doubled to left field, and Lola Brown grounded out, each scoring one run.
 
Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves scored five runs on three hits in the top of the second inning. #12 induced Emma Kesler to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Bowden singled, scoring one run, Villela singled, scoring one run, and Zoe Spicer tripled, scoring two runs.
 
Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves extended their early lead with three runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI singles by Kate Hatfield and Bowden.
 
Kesler earned the win for Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves. The hurler surrendered two hits and two runs (zero earned) over three innings, striking out six and walking none. #12 took the loss for McKinney Boyd. The starting pitcher went one and one-third innings, allowing seven runs on four hits, striking out one and walking two.
 
Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves collected 12 hits in the game. Matilda Lilja, Villela, and Spicer each collected multiple hits for Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves. Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves had a strong eye at the plate, tallying five walks for the game.
 
#11 and #4 were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for McKinney Boyd while hitting back-to-back. #5 led the team with one run batted in.
 
Plano West Junior Varsity Wolves play at home on Tuesday against Plano East in their next game.
