Abby Chunn's Big Day Propels Plano West Past Plano Senior Wildcats

Sophomore Abby Chunn drove in four runs on two hits to lead Plano West past Plano Senior 14-4 in another district run-rule victory on Friday. Chunn singled in the second scoring two, singled in the third scoring one, and walked in the sixth to score another.

Although the Wildcats scored first in the second inning, Plano West jumped ahead with three runs and Plano Senior was never able to catch back up. In addition to Chunn's RBIs that inning, Sophomore Brooke Reasoner doubled to drive in a run of her own. Plano West's big inning came in the bottom of the sixth when the Wolves put seven runs on the board on four hits. Chunn drew her walk with other RBIs coming from a Reasoner single, singles by Juniors Izzy Dunn and Kaaya Mehta, a double by Junior Andrea Carrillo, and a ground out by Junior Elyse Mikes.

Junior Marlee Flanigan earned the win for the Wolves. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and two runs (one earned) over three innings. Senior M.C. Pollacia appeared in relief, allowing two runs on four hits over three innings, striking out three and walking one.

The Wolves offense tallied a total of eleven hits. Reasoner in the nine-hole led the team with three hits in four at-bats. Wolves patience at the plate prevailed, drawing ten walks in the game.

The Wolves are now 2-0 in district play and take their game on the road to Lewisville on Tuesday night.
