Wolves Roll Past Celina

Plano West easily dispatched the Bobcats 12-3 in their second game on Friday. The Wolves generated big offense early, scoring four runs in the first that Celina never recovered from.

West bats started strong with a line drive single by Junior Elyse Mikes, a single by Sophomore Abby Jennings, and a triple from Junior Ally Martin. The Wolves scored two more during the game, but their biggest inning came in the bottom of the fifth when they scored six runs on four hits. Junior Kaaya Mehta opened the bottom half of the inning with a double, followed by singles from Martin, Senior MC Pollacia, and Sophomore Brooke Reasoner. Two big sacrifice flies from Jennings and Sophomore Abby Cuellar drove additional runs across the plate.

Senior MC Pollacia started and earned the win in the circle. She surrendered five hits and three runs over five innings, striking out three and walking two. Senior Carra Cleaves threw one inning of zero-run ball to close it out.

Jennings and Cuellar were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for the Wolves. Martin and Cuellar led the team at the plate with two hits each. And in the field, Plano West played a clean game with no errors and one double play. Jennings made the most plays with five.
