It came down to the wire on Wednesday as Plano West grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 3-2, over the Marcus Marauders. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the ninth when Sophomore Abby Chunn doubled to score the winning run.

The game turned into a pitching duel with both teams were strong in the circle. Plano West pitchers struck out nine while the Marcus pitcher sat down thirteen.

Both teams were scoreless in the first inning, with each scoring one in the second to keep it a tie game. The Wolves second inning run was generated by a double from Sophomore Abby Jennings, a sacrifice by Junior Andrea Carrillo to move Jennings to third, and a sacrifice fly by Chunn to right field. Plano West scored another run in the fourth to move ahead with an RBI single from Junior Kaaya Mehta. But Marcus tied the game at 2-2 in the sixth. The teams battled it out into the ninth before Chunn's walk-off ended the game.

Senior Carra Cleaves earned the win for the Wolves. The reliever gave up three hits and one run over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Senior M.C. Pollacia started the game in the circle with a strong performance as well, giving up six hits and one run over four innings, striking out three and walking one.

Plano West managed the win on five hits and three walks. Chunn led the way with her two RBIs, going 1 for 3 on the day. Mehta went 2 for 3 at the plate. On defense, the Wolves were once again flawless, committing no errors. Sophomore catcher Brooke Reasoner had the most chances in the field with ten.

The Wolves stand at 4-0 in district play. They travel next week to Plano East to play cross-town rivals on Tuesday.
