Plano West rolled into Lewisville, planning for a tough battle against the Fighting Farmers. West was clearly ready and made Lewisville pay with a 12-1 run-rule defeat on Lewisville's home field.

Sophomore Abby Jennings led the offense, going 3 for 4 at the plate with 3 RBIs on the night. She doubled in the first, singled in the third, and singled again in the sixth. The Wolves put up two big 5-run innings in each of the first and third. In the first, in addition to Jennings 3-run double, Junior Kaaya Mehta singled and Sophomore Abby Chunn hit a sacrifice fly, both driving runs home.

In the top of the third, Chunn singled to score two runs. Junior Izzy Dunn singled, driving in two of her own. And Sophomore Abby Cuellar grounded out to drive in the other run. Additional offense came from Sophomore Elyse Mikes and a patient line up that drew ten walks during the game, including two each from Cuellar, Mehta, and Senior Carra Cleaves. The Wolves patience at the plate forced the Lewisville starter to throw 82 pitches before being relieved in the third inning with only one out.

Cleaves started in the circle for the Wolves and earned the win. She gave up only one run on four hits over six innings, striking out three and walking two. Behind her, the West defense was solid, committing no errors, including a spectacular diving catch against the centerfield wall by Mikes. Mehta had the most chances in the field with six.

The Wolves won their fifth consecutive run-rule game and are 3-0 in district play. They host the Marcus Marauders on Wednesday.
