Wolves Survive Close One Against McKinney Boyd

Despite seeing their 4-run lead whittled down late in the game, Plano West held off McKinney Boyd for a close 7-6 win. Boyd scored two runs late in the game, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.

Plano West got on the board in the top of the first inning after Sophomore Abby Jennings hit a sacrifice fly to score Junior Izzy Dunn and Junior Kaaya Mehta drove in Sophomore Abby Cuellar. The Wolves added to their lead in the top of the third with home runs from Mehta and Junior Andrea Carrillo.

Senior MC Pollacia earned the win for the Wolves in the circle. She pitched four and a third innings, striking out six and walking one. Senior Carra Cleaves entered in relief in the last inning to earn the save.

Jennings, Carrillo, Cuellar, Mehta, Sophomore Brooke Reasoner, and Senior Maya Florence each collected one hit. Mehta led the board with three RBIs.
