Plano West lost to Aubrey in their first game of the McKinney tournament, their first set of consecutive losses since the season started. The game remained a low-scoring affair through the fourth.
Sophomore Abby Jennings singled in the fourth to drive in Junior Elyse Mikes to tie the game at one apiece. But the Wolves then left bases loaded without scoring any additional runs. Melissa pulled ahead in the fifth with two additional runs and the Wolves never caught back up.
Junior Marlee Flanigan opened the game for Plano West in the circle and recorded the loss. She gave up six hits and three runs (two earned) over four and two-thirds innings. Senior Carra Cleaves appeared in relief, giving up five hits and four runs (two earned).
The Wolves had another quiet game at the plate, collecting only four hits. The only recorded hits came from Jennings, Mikes, and Juniors Andrea Carrillo and Kaaya Mehta.
