Plano West Falls in Home Opener to Melissa

Plano West lost 9-1 in their home opener to Melissa, unable to keep up with the Cardinals' offense. Melissa scored in each of the first four innings and added insurance runs in the fourth. An unusually quiet Wolves offense managed only four hits and one run across the plate.

Junior Izzy Dunn tallied two of the Wolves four hits, going 2 for 4 at the plate. Additional hits came from Sophomores Abby Cuellar and Abby Chunn.

Senior MC Pollacia started in the circle and recorded the loss. Senior Carra Cleaves and Sophomore Marlee Flanigan also made an appearance.

The Wolves play in their final pre-district tournament of the year in McKinney starting Thursday.
