Wolves Lose to Midway Despite Late Inning Rally

Despite a 5-run deficit in the sixth inning, Plano West almost came all the way back, eventually falling 7-5 to the Midway Panthers on Friday. Midway jumped out quick with two runs in the top of the first, driving a double that scored both runs.
The Wolves chipped away at that lead, scoring one run in each of the second and third innings to tie up the game. But the Panthers ran away with the score in the fifth, scoring four runs with a grand slam over the left field wall. In the bottom of the last inning, Plano West made a good run, pushing three across the plate with hits from Senior Maya Florence and Juniors Ally Martin, Izzy Dunn, and Elyse Mikes. But time ran out in the tournament game before the Wolves could get another at-bat.
Snior MC Pollacia started and took the loss in the circle. Martin led the team at the plate, going 2 for 3. On defense, the team committed only one error and turned one double play in the game.
