Wolves Run-Rule Southside Cardinals

Plano West finished off day 2 of the Comal-Wurst Softball Tournament with a loud bang, beating the Southside Cardinals in a run-rule finish 10 to 0.

Plano West started the scoring frenzy in the top of the second thanks to two singles, including one from Junior Sophia Nell to put the first run on the board and a second from a single by Sophomore Abby Cuellar. The Wolves added four more runs in the top of the third on four hits. Junior Kaaya Mehta hit a solo home run to left field and Nell singled again to drive in two more.

Junior Marlee Flanigan earned the win for the Wolves in the circle. She allowed only three hits over five innings. On offense, Plano West piled up 15 hits, including big days at the plate from Cuellar (4 for 4), Nell (2 for 3), and Senior Maya Florence (2 for 3). On defense, the Wolves were flawless yet again, turning a double play in addition to the errorless game.
