Plano West Victorious Over Bowie in New Braunfels Tournament

The Wolves traveled to New Braunfels for a tournament against strong teams from around the state. Plano West won their first game of the tournament, 6-4 over the Bowie Lady Dogs.
Bowie struck first with two runs in the first. The Wolves scored one in the second but flipped the game on its head in the top of the fourth, scoring five runs on four hits to take a 6-2 lead. Bowie came back to score two in the fifth, but it wasn't enough to take the lead back.
Senior Carra Cleaves earned the win for West in the circle, giving up five hits and two unearned runs over four innings, striking out five and walking one. Senior M.C. Pollacia pitched one inning in relief.
Sophomore Abby Cuellar led Plano West with three hits in four at bats from the leadoff spot in the lineup. RBIs were delivered by Cuellar, Cleaves, and Sophomores Abby Chunn and Abby Jennings. The Wolves were patient at the plate, drawing seven walks over the course of the game.
