Wolves Lose a Close One to Southlake Carroll

Plano West stayed in it until the end, but Caroll pulled away late in a 3-2 victory in the Wolves' second game of the Turf Wars tournament. The game was tied at two with Carroll batting in the bottom of the sixth. The Dragons tripled, scoring one run just before time expired in the game. The pitching was strong for both teams. Carroll pitchers struck out four, while Plano West pitchers sat down three.

The Wolves jumped out early in the game. Senior Izzy Artnak grounded out with an RBI, sending Junior Adayah Wallace across the plate. Then in the second inning, Senior Natalie Morris grounded out to first with an RBI, driving home Senior Jamie Cendana.

Southlake Carroll answered in the third and fifth innings with one run in each, and then the final run in the sixth. Three errors in the field by the Wolves were too much to overcome.

Hilton, Cendana, Artnak, and Wallace each collected one hit to lead the team in offense for the game.
