Coppell Defeats Resilient Plano West

Despite a 6-run deficit in the third inning, Plano West almost came all the way back, despite eventually falling 8 to 6 to Coppell on Saturday. The Wolves tallied five runs in the failed comeback. Senior Catie Kim rallied the Wolves with 3 RBIs. Junior Brooke Hilton and Sophomore Carra Cleaves each drove in one, but unfortunately, they were not enough.
Coppell got on the board in the first inning, generating a run with an error and a sacrifice fly. They scored another four runs in the second that the Wolves couldn't recover from. Coppell's starting pitcher took the win on the rubber, surrendering six runs on 11 hits over 7 innings, striking out four and walking one. Cleaves took the loss, allowing 10 hits and striking out 3.
For the Wolves 11 hits, Senior Catie Kim and Juniors Brooke Hilton and Adayah Wallace each managed 2 hits to lead the team's offense. The Wolves are 0 and 2 in district play.
